For my 'Kim'chi Burrito!

"This is how we ro-oll, this is how we ro-oll!" Insert a little shoulder bounce and a little hand raising and you have me and Kim singing our little song about how we roll! For those who don't know, I have an identical twin sister who is miles away in California. We are half-Korean and while Sushi is Japanese, Koreans make a roll very similar to sushi called KimBap (SP???). It's rice, sauteed spinach, fried egg, a pickled radish, bulgogi (marinated beef) all rolled up with seaweed. Kim and I grew up eating these little rolls by the dozen so this new Sushi set by Amuse just had to be mine! I added the sentiment with an alphabet set that I had from Hero Arts. I just ordered a tiny alphabet set from Papertrey that would have been perfect, but I wanted to make the card now. I was just cracking myself up with the whole idea so I had to make the card immediately--you know how it goes! This background paper is actually an origami paper that I got from Mama Kate and while it was really for another project, I'm sure she'll understand that it was just perfect for this project so I had to incorporate it. The little blossoms in the paper match a stamp that came in the sushi set perfectly but I had trouble coloring it with the markers to get the yellow centers so I just cut out flowers from scraps to use there on the bottom of the card. You can see I used Beate's Weekend Sketch again for this layout. It's such an easy sketch to work with so you should give it a whirl this weekend if you're in the mood to do a little stamping!

I had Scrapbook Friend'z order this set for me and they have a few other sets in the store as well as some other new acrylics by Amuse in case any of you are interested in a sushi stamp set of your own! I got the owl set as well and hope to ink that up here pretty soon.

*Note about the title: I gave Kim the nickname Kimchi Burrito when we were in Florida some years ago. She was wrapped up in a blanket and looked like a burrito and again, cracking myself up I started calling her Kimchi Burrito. She hated it which of course prompted me to say it even more--and worse, I was kind of singing it..."Kimchi BurREEEEEEto!" Oh, I really miss my little burrito!!!

Here's a picture of Kim holding burrito jr. Really, this is my niece who was only about 5 or 6 days old in this picture. She's now a little over a year old!
