Cards for a Cause: Take Two

I hope you will consider joining me in another Cards for a Cause. If you're a new visitor to the blog, you can read about our last effort HERE.
My sister-in-law and her husband learned that their son had Autism in April of 2007. Fortunately for them, they have found a place where Noah has thrived and is making miraculous progress. Little Star Center is a non-profit therapy center for children with Autism and they depend on fundraising and the parents' financial contributions to keep their doors open. Noah's dad will be participating in a golf marathon of sorts (golfing 100 holes) to benefit the Center and I'd like to make a donation with your help. When you purchase a box of five handmade cards for $15, I'll donate ALL of the proceeds to Little Star Center. Please add $5 to cover postage and handling if you need the cards mailed to you. All card boxes will be mailed out by the end of the month. These boxes of cards would make a great gift :-)

If you'd like to donate cards, please let me know. Thanks so much for your consideration!

*Cards pictured are from our last event, but they will be packaged the same way. You will receive an assortment of cards (birthday, thanks, congrats). I will try my best to honor any special requests so please let me know if you'd prefer a particular type or even style. If you do not have a Paypal account, please e-mail me to arrange payment.
ETA: Sorry, I'm not sure what's up with the Paypal button but it's not working all of the time. If you have trouble with it, please e-mail me and I can send you an invoice/link so that you can pay that way. Sorry about the inconvenience!

Good News!

Our first Cards for a Cause was a great success. I was in awe of the generosity of everyone involved and it was with great joy that I deposited $450 into Tarah's fund this morning. I still have payments coming in so I expect the final total will be right around $500! How AWESOME is that! This total included donations from the Swap-a-Thon that JoLynn hosted last month. A special thanks to everyone else who donated cards and/or participated in the Swap-a-Thon: Kate, JoLynn, Krystal, Kathleen and Lynny. I would never have been able to fill all of those orders without all of the beautiful cards you all donated to the cause. Thanks to everyone who made a donation--hope you're enjoying your cards!

In other good news, I just found out that I will have a card published in the October issue of Cards magazine--very exciting! I will have to start buying stock in the company or something :-)

Cards for a Cause

Many of you know that a few months ago I lost a friend to lung cancer. Kathy was a friend, colleague and fellow stamper. As Mother's Day approaches, I find myself thinking of her daughter Tarah quite a bit. Tarah is an amazing young woman who will be the recipient of what I hope is the first of many Cards for a Cause. Many of the women in my stamping circle were friends and colleagues of Kathy's as well so we've come together in an effort to help raise money for a fund that has been set up for Tarah.
Here's how you can help.
For a $15 donation, you will receive an assortment of 5 handmade cards* made by a member of our stamp club. The cards and envelopes will come in a plastic box as pictured which would make them very easy to give as a gift! All of the cards and materials have been donated by members of our stamp club so that your entire donation can be put towards Tarah's fund. For those of you interested in more than one box of cards, simply increase your donation by $10 for each additional box.

Should you need these mailed to you (USA only), please make your donation for $20 in order to cover shipping fees ($3 for every box after the first). IF you are local and could pay by cash or check, please e-mail me with your card request so that we can avoid the fees associated with using Paypal.

Thank you!
Cards pictured were donated by Kate Coe.
*Cards received will not necessarily be the cards pictured.
