I knew that I was going to try and get today's Technique Lover's Challenge completed and since I still hadn't completed Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge I was more than happy to just combine the two :-). I know, I know...but I've been busy! My book club is currently reading Water for Elephants and I began reading it Saturday night and I just couldn't put it down! So, I finished that last night and that's what kept me away from my stamps yesterday. Not to mention I did a little shopping at a LSS yesterday. I had to get some new stamps and I was really excited to see that Scrapbook Friend'z is carrying stamps from My Favorite Things!! They said they have had a few sets and are now just starting to get more, but I never even noticed them in there until yesterday! Very exciting--I love seeing stamps you can't find at Hobby Lobby or Michael's at locally owned stores. So, back to the card for today. I used the new Jersey Shore DSP and the larger panel is actually cut from one sheet of paper and then the thin strip to the right is the opposite side of that sheet. I thought since there were so many colors and polka dots on the left that I didn't need to go with too loud of a pattern for my second one. The thin strip is really an accent and I might even just leave it out if I were to make this card again. The sentiment panel is stamped with an image from the Sale-a-Bration set Friendship Blooms and then the words are actually rub-ons from the Sale-a-Bration package--I've been using those a lot lately! The sentiment panel was cut a little larger than I needed so I colored the edge with a Bashful Blue marker and added some dots with my white gel pen. There's this woman on Splitcoast (Markie'sMom) who does all of the challenges and she adds dots to EVERYTHING, I mean--a lot of little dots everywhere so I guess after seeing all of her projects it was only a matter of time before I added some, too!
