Urban Garden = Fabulous!

I finally got my Big Shot and dies so I've had to bust them out to play. For all of you Cuttlebug fans out there, you'll be happy to know that I had complete SUCCESS when testing the new Stampin' Up! Sizzix dies in the Bug. The only dies that will NOT work are the JUMBO dies that require the extended cutting plates. The actual die will fit in the Cuttlebug, but the cutting plates will not. I'm going to ask around to see if I can find someone who can cut acrylic plates for the Bug users who may be interested. The Sizzix plates are literally just about a 1/4" too wide! UGH! If you do not have a Cuttlebug, you might be interested in the Big Shot. I really like how sturdy it is and so far, I'm happy with it! Now, this card uses one of the new Stampin' Up! exclusive dies--the Scallop Envelope. This envelope is adorable and is great for a small enclosure card and can also be used as a cute accent on a cardfront as seen here. I saw this idea on another stamper's blog when I was searching for Big Shot ideas. I looked for it again so I could link it here and can now tell you that the originator of this idea is Patty Bennet. This was one of the make-and-takes at last night's workshop and some of the ladies were ready to hang me by my toes for all of the STRESS that this card caused :-). Of course, it didn't help that I was so distracted just yappin' away that I didn't even show one of the tables how to use the Scallop Edge Punch correctly! OOPS! I think they've forgiven me for that. Once they got going, it wasn't too bad and everyone seemed to love the papers and ribbon as much as I do! Well, it's a long weekend and I'm looking forward to sleeping in and enjoying a visit from my mom. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend--thanks for stoppin' by!
