In Theory....

I was reading Angie Tieman's blog and she is a teacher who's been sitting in meetings and getting ready for the new school year. She made a comment about the fact that maybe if she had some make and takes it wouldn't be so bad since sitting there all day isn't doing it for her! I thought about all of my friends who've gone back to work this week and I decided to put together a quick make and take and bring it to the school for anyone to work on this afternoon. As you can see the card is SUPER simple and fast. In theory, this seemed like such a fun idea, but in REALITY, people were actually busy and some of them I saw on the way out hadn't even seen the e-mail until the end of the day that I was there :-(. What's with people working so hard? So, yes...while I'm on this soap box of mine, let me tell you that teachers work very hard. I hate when people make comments about teachers having so much time off because it's like that's the only aspect of the job they focus on. Teachers are working day in and day out planning, grading, teaching...trust me, many teachers are working on many of those 'off' days.

Okay, I'm off of the soap box now. So, my busy teachers didn't have time to complete the make and take which means I'll have to save it for a future class. OH, except for JoLynn who was forced to make one over lunch :-). She said I was crazy and she's right!
I suppose I could tell you a little about the card, huh? It features some new DSP called Urban Garden which is my favorite and the stamped image is from a new set called All About Scallops. The great thing about this particular set is that it is the Ronald McDonald House set which means $2 from each sale are going towards a wonderful charity. The stamps in the set coordinate with the new Scallop Square Punch and that's pretty fabulous as well! The image is stamped in Baja Breeze which is one of the new 'In Colors' this year.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back with some more new goodies very soon!

Oh, your card is gorgeous and I love your spirit and thoughtfulness too! I can't believe you really pulled it off on such short notice like that!! Definitely try again, I know they'll want to do it! I wish you could have swung by *Dallas* with your project! lol!

You are the best Karen! I so wish that I could have made the card, but it was a nice suprise to find a stampin' up bag on my desk today! Did you happen to see that I had the Cards magazine on my desk? I have been showing off your publication at school!

Now I really feel quite special! That card was cute!! Thanks for the teacher shoutout, ol' pardner. We do work hard, by golly! It's all for the children.

On an unrelated note, I am loving the outdoor shots and am living vicariously through your camera. Thanks for the sunshine, man. :)

Hey, you could've swung by CCHS. I'd have done a make & take at lunch, too! ;)
