Today's Ways to Use It Challenge was to incorporate some torn paper. I figured that would be easy enough so I began working on a card. Now, I'll tell you right away that it wasn't as easy as I thought because I just don't like the look of torn paper right now--do you ever go through phases like that? I like everything clean and straight so torn was more difficult than I thought! I also had trouble with the layout so the card took a lot longer than expected. Fortunately, Maddie was enjoying working on her own project which basically entailed just cutting into the same piece of paper over and over again :-) Now, I've had this color combo on the brain for a while now since seeing it on Nancy Riley's blog. It soon followed as a color challenge on Splitcoast a couple of weeks ago so I felt like the stamping gods were telling me to go ahead and try it. I used the trio of flowers from the new set, Eastern Blooms and colored them with Stampin' Write Markers in Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Taken with Teal. The sentiment is from the Ronald McDonald House Set, Say it with Scallops. I stamped the image twice--once on Eggplant and once on Whisper White. I punched out the center using my 3/4" punch and then punched out a mat using a 1" square punch that I have. The rest of the image was stamped in Eggplant on Eggplant so it's just like a watermark detail in each of the scallops (which I know you can't really see in the picture) and then it was punched out using the new Square Scallop Punch. Well, I think that will be all the stamping I get to today so see you another day! Thanks for stopping by :-)

this is fabulous! Love the colors!
Great color combo, and the tearing turned out beautifully! I know what you mean about the torn edges--I read the challenge last night and my only reaction was to crinkle my nose in disgust. Needless to say, I did not complete the challenge. :)
