I haven't completed one of Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenges in a while so I tackled it this afternoon while Maddie tackled making a mess of my stamp room--not that it wasn't a mess to begin with :-0. I wanted to make a card using new products that I have either been hoarding or just not used yet so the materials for this card were chosen rather quickly. The DSP is from the Bali Breeze collection and the top print in particular is one that I thought was just adorable and had to have. I paired it with a scrap that was left over from stamp camp this past Tuesday and the base of my card came together very quickly. For the circular element in the sketch, I decided to use a stamp from Lovely Labels. This is such a cute little stamp set and I just love the font on this particular stamp. I had a heck of a time deciding what color to stamp it in and actually had it stamped in both Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive before deciding to go with Chocolate Chip. I am not only in love with real chocolate, but apparently paper chocolate as well. It seems there isn't a day that goes by that I do not incorporate SOME Chocolate Chip into a project! For today's Limited Supplies Challenge, we were asked to replace our Hodgepodge Hardware with stamps. Well, I had a small polka-dot stamp from Papertrey's Polka Dot Basics, but I wasn't really happy with how it looked stamped on the card so I just punched some circles out of Chocolate Chip with my 1/4" circle punch and used those instead. So, I guess I kinda failed as far as that challenge goes, but I'm okay with it. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!
