Long Time, No Stamping!

Hello, everyone! I feel like it's been ages since I've updated the blog so I guess it's safe to say I have a slight craft addiction because really, it's not like it's been THAT long. I haven't been too crafty--just enjoying the weekend with friends and family. I met a friend for breakfast on Saturday morning, had some friends from out of town stop in for a visit Saturday afternoon and then just hung out with Steve and Maddie on a rainy Mother's Day. Here's a card that Steve had Maddie make for me--I thought it was the cutest card ever! I guess he's finally started taking me seriously about just having Maddie make me cards because I can't get over how much $$ he spends on cards when our basement is like a card factory! In other Maddie news, her 2nd birthday is quickly approaching and it dawned on me that I needed to send out invites...and then it dawned on me that I needed to make them! Since I was working with a small timeframe, I decided to let technology do most of the work. I grabbed this Dora image through Google.com and then just added the text in Photoshop Elements. Quick and easy. I mounted the panel on a piece of Lovely Lilac cardstock and then mounted those onto a piece of patterned paper that I found at Scrapbook Friend'z. I thought I had seen some Dora supplies in there before but they really didn't have all that much in terms of what I could use for an invite. This striped paper was in the same section and had typical 'Dora' colors so I grabbed a few sheets. Of course, I should have grabbed a few more because in typical 'Karen' fashion--I did not have enough for all of the invites. Some people will maybe just get some additional layers of colored cardstock instead of the stripes--they'll never know, right? I'm going to do some more laundry and then my friend Kelly is coming over to let me play with her camera since I'm shopping for a new DSLR. FUN! Hopefully, I'll squeeze in some stamping tonight or tomorrow and have a new project to share. Thanks for stopping by!
