CC185: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Very Vanilla

Do you want to know the best part about waking up at 4:15 AM? You can eat breakfast in peace, check your e-mail, go to the gym and enjoy a spinning class for an hour, come home, eat your second breakfast in peace, watch a DVRd show, complete the day's color challenge, begin updating your blog and STILL have your daughter soundly asleep!! Ah, it seems too good to be true so I better just type quickly before the peanut is awake. I liked today's colors and went to work and decided to cut out one of the flowers from the Urban Garden DSP to use as a focal point since I knew my time was limited. This card took about 10 minutes to make and most of that time was spent on the cutting. I used a different pattern from that same collection for the bottom panel of the card and I stamped a sentiment in Basic Black. I wish I would have taken the time to get my Stamp-a-ma-jig out so that I could have placed the sentiment slightly lower so that it wasn't over the dots--I think it would have been easier to read. OR better yet, I could have flipped that main panel so the vanilla was on the bottom and just stamped the sentiment on that instead. I did incorporate a third color--Not Quite Navy. I didn't like the looks of the Kiwi or Baja card bases so I went with the navy. I guess I'm just used to seeing all of these colors together in the Urban Garden papers so my brain just wanted the navy in there :-) Well, I hope you are all having a fabulous Tuesday--thanks for stopping by!

YES! I also needed an additional color (or two). Kiwi and Baja were like fighting siblings. Both cute, but you just couldn't put them together.

Love your card.
