Punch Purses

Here is another card for today's Stamp-a-Stack which also served as my inspiration for my card for today's Color Challenge on Splitcoast--more about that card in a bit. I have seen these tiny purses made with Stampin' Up! punches and have been wanting to try one. Nancy Riley made this card which I thought was adorable, but I thought my stamp campers would go nuts making 3 purses for each card for a total of 6 purses. I wanted to showcase this technique and decided to just use one purse so that the card would be easier to complete during the SAS. If you've never made one of these purses, it's super easy. Here's what you'll need for this project: Round Tab Punch, Small and Large Oval Punches. You can see that the 'purse' is just the Round Tab Punch. To make the handle and clasp, just take your Small Oval Punch and punch out a small oval using a scrap piece of cardstock. Then use your Large Oval Punch to punch around the negative space that is left on your scrap. You'll be left with a thin oval ring which you can cut in half to get two handles. You can snip off the ends of the small oval to make your clasp. The clasp can be finished off with a brad or some bling very easily.
When I saw that today's colors were Taken with Teal, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White, I knew I had to play. After all, the card I made last night practically had all of those colors in it already! I just needed to incorporate some Wasabi. I used last week's sketch as a starting point along with some scraps from last night and decided to keep Basic Black in the mix. Instead of a brad, I used some bling for the clasp and I think it's a nice finishing touch.
Well, I have to finish setting up for today. I had some last-minute changes last night since my UPS shipment was rescheduled...not that I should really blame UPS...I am always doing things at the last minute :-) Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

How cute are these?! I love when people come up with this stuff! I wish I could see that in my punches.

So sad to have missed the fun!
