A New Sketch

Today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast seemed straightforward enough and still I found a way to botch it up just a tad bit. The focal image with that layered flower is supposed to be centered, but I had to move it over to the left to accomodate my sentiment. Truth be told, I actually like it over to the left (shhh...). The DSP on the top of the card is from the Afternoon Tea collection. I love this print and the colors in it, but it does seem to be a bit 'much' for the card so I'd rethink using such a large piece on a cardfront again if there's going to be as much 'white' space. The flower was made with two punches using the 5 Petal Flower Punch and scraps of Chocolate Chip and Groovy Guava (Ginger Blossom DSP). The brad is the center is a velvet brad by Making Memories and it matches the guava perfectly! I got these at Archiver's for 25% off during my shopping spree in early April and this was the first time I used them--very pleased with them!

I want to talk to you about this sentiment for a minute. It's from a set called Many Happy Returns and if you look at the set, you'll see that it's three large stamps with a BUNCH of different sentiments. I've seen other people cut up all of the sentiments and mount them separately so that's what I've done. I do not have enough of the smaller blocks BUT I'm considering removing the foam and mounting these on EZmount so that's always a possibility for those of you who are EZmount fans! For $18.95, you get 32 different elements when you cut these stamps apart making them easier to use the images separately. Of course, you can always just ink up a portion that you'd like to use, but I think it's much easier to line them up on a project when they're mounted separately. If you're interested in getting wooden blocks for these, you can probably find someone who can cut your larger blocks that come with this set down into smaller pieces OR you can buy some online HERE.

Gorgeous sketch card ... I love how you offset the square and positioned your sentiment.

Love this one too! I think it's the best I've seen with this sketch, it was a tricky one I thought! You have a great combination here!
