LSC166: Circles

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge asked participants to use circle punches or cutters as the only tool for our projects. I used my Creative Memories Circle Cutting System to cut the card base and all of the circles you see on this card. I like my nifty cutter but I realized when making this card that it is IMPERATIVE that I get a cutter which will make it easier to know exactly what size circles I'm getting with one tool. I have the little plastic transparency guide that came with my CM cutting system but I don't always want to stop to dig it up and get it out. Okay, so really I'm just lazy and I guess that's not a good excuse to buy a new circle cutting system. Enough about that and back to the card. The most time-consuming part as you can probably imagine was cutting out the main image--not sure what I was thinking on that one! I will say that my Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife came in very handy when trying to cut around the monkey's tail. That was $5 I'll never regret spending. Another $5 I won't regret spending was my new Adirondack ink pad I got the other day at Scrapbook Friend'z. I have been having trouble with my Copics and black ink smearing and was getting pretty frustrated. I had heard good things about Staz-On and I'll be honest that I never tried using them because they had to be heat-set AND then I saw a video tutorial where this woman suggested using Adirondacks with Copics--the ink was permanent and didn't need to be heat set. I watched her stamp her image and just start coloring with no black ink feathering all over the place and I was SOLD. Sherrie Siemens is known as BCSherrie on Splitoast and let me tell you--I was happy to find her video!
The layout for this card was CASE'd from Kristina Werner. I can't seem to link to the card directly, but it was one of her Make a Card Monday projects so you can scroll down THIS PAGE and find the project dated February 25th.

So glad to hear that I could help you out with your copics....glad you didn't try with the Staz-on....it would have made a LARGE mess, copics don't work with Staz-on at all because they are both solvent based.
I've had fun scrolling through your blog....lots of eye candy!!
