WT161: Eyelets

Today's challenge had us using eyelets in creative ways. I seem to have eyelets in every color and size yet I rarely use them on projects. I even bought the Crop-o-Dile thinking that all that hammering was the only thing prohibiting me from using my eyelet stash. It turns out, I'm just lazy--seems I can't be troubled to get up and walk two feet to grab some eyelets to add to a project. Well, today's challenge was all the motivation I needed. I couldn't really come up with anything too creative, but I did think it would be cute to use a bunch of eyelets with these new Carousel Notes that were in the mini catalog. Julie ordered them a couple of months ago and when I was packing her order, I realized that I 'needed' them. I also saw Beate use one on a scrapbook layout and I thought that was a great idea. The Carousel Notes are large--about 6.25" in diameter and they come with Chocolate Chip square envelopes so you don't have to worry about finding an envelope to fit. The notes are flat and come in an assortment pack including three colors: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava. They don't open so I think I'm going to use this particular project for a scrapbook layout. I used Soft Sky ink so you may not be able to read the sentiment completely, but it reads, "enjoy life". I think this would be a cute element in a scrapbook page that shows Maddie just playing and enjoying her toddlerhood ;-) This stamp set is one of my new favorite purchases so I was happy to get it mounted and inky--it's another one that was on my wish list AND then showed up on the Free Wheelin' Promotion list! YIPEE! So, even though I wasn't planning on getting the wheel, now I have it and it's cute so I'm sure I'll use it sometime. The little flower on the left was made using the Boho Blossoms Punch and coordinating stamp set--gotta love stamps and punches that coordinate :-) Thanks for stopping by!

How funny is this? I was going to use eyelets on a scallop punch, but decided it was too much work! Lazy minds think alike, huh? :)
