A Stampin' Date!

Today's Ways to Use It Challenge on Splitcoast was called, "Spray It!" and we were asked to incorporate some type of spray into our project--hairspray, water from a spray bottle, Glimmer Mist--whatever we had on hand. Since I don't have any of the 'fancy' sprayables, I opted to do some misting with water onto my colored stamps. We've used this technique a few times at stamp camp, but if you're unfamiliar with it, you can find a tutorial on Splitcoast as it's this week's featured technique! Some of you may remember I mentioned how I recently reconnected with a friend from college--Ann. Known as Stampin' Annie on Splicoast, she has put me to shame with all of the cards she has uploaded in the past few month. JoLynn was interested in meeting the face behind the projects so we all got together today to complete the day's challenge. Ann and I ended up having a color challenge of sorts--translation--we leaned towards the same colors so we joked that we were giving ourselves a color challenge on top of the Splitcoast challenge. Ann used this flower stamp on a card she made yesterday and it inspired me to bust it out and ink it up. It's from a stamp set that retired years ago and I had never used it so it was about time! I used some of my new paper and ribbon from Papertrey Ink and I thought the Berry Sorbet worked really well with Stampin' Up!'s Cameo Coral and Ruby Red which is what I used to color the flowers.
Stamps: Art of Life, Absolutely Fabulous
Paper: Berry Blush (PTI), Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Wide Grosgrain (PTI)

Ann made this cute square card which was out of her norm. The stamp she used is from an older Sale-a-Bration set called Happy Harmony--many of you probably own this set. She hadn't tried one of SU!'s cute ribbon slides so she used one here. I love the Coral Crystals glitter she used to add a little bling to the slide. Her Old Olive panel was attacked by a bug--a Cuttlebug! She used our favorite new embossing folder, Swiss Dots!
Stamps: Happy Harmony
Paper: Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: HH Ribbon Slide, Cuttlebug, Chocolate Chip Twill

I don't have JoLynn's card saved on my computer so take a look at her card HERE and I'm sure she'll have it on her blog later today.

We set up JoLynn's camera to get a group shot before she left. She was trying to show her shirt--not something else :-) It reads, "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eyelet".
