For today's Limited Supply Challenge, we were asked to use football-related supplies. We didn't necessarily need to use actual football stamps or images--we could use color combos inspired by teams. I had no idea what I wanted to do at first, but then I decided it would be nice to make a card for Steve since he's leaving for his golf trip tomorrow while Maddie and I are also going away to visit my grandpa. I dug up this picture of him and Maddie in their Chicago Bears outfits. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but do you remember how Maddie's hair used to just stick up like that!?! Crazy! I'm glad it has calmed down since then. Oh, and I'm very sorry about the angle of the photographed card, but the reflection off of the photo I used was very distracting and this angle removed that reflection. Okay, back to the card...I cut the photo down and matted it with Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy. I used some scraps to create the faux ribbon running underneath the photo--I was inspired by the rings around the sleeves of the jersey Steve has on though you can't see them in the picture. I finished off with a little stamp I picked up about a month before Maddie was born that says, "I Love My Daddy". It punched out leaving a slight white edge which I liked using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I then punched out a Pumpkin Pie circle with the 1 3/8" Punch and then used the Scallop Circle Punch for the final piece in Night of Navy. I added the dots on the scalloped piece with a Uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen (I {heart} those pens!). A quick and easy card that I will hide in Steve's suitcase so that he finds it when he unpacks at the hotel.
Since I'll be visiting with my dear grandfather who only has dial-up, I may not be updating the blog while I'm gone. I'm going to miss doing the challenges on Splitcoast so maybe you all can do a couple for me :-) I am SO EXCITED to go see my grandpa!! YEAH!
