Kick Stand Card

Today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast was to make a kick stand card.  I had never heard of this type of card so it was fun to try it.  As I was browsing the Splitcoast gallery yesterday, I noticed a bunch of Valentine's Day cards so that's where my inspiration for this card came from.  I used the stamp set Sweet Love by Papertrey Ink.  There are images which coordinate with the Marvy Uchida punches which is nice.  I did have trouble lining the oval up with the Mega punch so I just hand-trimmed the oval and then mounted it onto a piece of cardstock that was punched with the Giga Scalloped Oval Punch.  You can see that I used the Cuttlebug for the background and the ribbon is a yummy wide satin ribbon that was available in the last mini catalog from SU!.  This card will be for Steve from Maddie on Valentine's Day which is why I had to go with pink and brown :-).

Karen, that is beautiful! I love how elegant it looks with it's dry embossed background, the scallops and the soft colors you chose.
Hugs and smiles
