Congratulations to our first blog candy winner--comment #2--Krystal! I'll be in touch with you in regards to getting you your issue of Creating Keepsakes :-)
As promised, here is a better picture of JoLynn's canvas from her class earlier today. This project was a show-stopper. Since JoLynn had to run off to another class, I brought her project back to the hotel and I was stopped by so many women wanting to take a look at it. The picture doesn't even do it justice--you have to see it in person! If you ever go to a Creating Keepsakes Convention, I strongly recommend any class offered by Quick Quotes--their projects were awesome!Today at the vendor fair, we met some Stampin' Up! demonstrators who had a booth and were offering a free make-and-take. Of course, I felt a little guilty being a demonstrator doing their make-and-take, but the demo I spoke with was very friendly and didn't mind at all! She gave me permission to post their project on the blog and here it is. They used the Simply Sent Kit "Simple Delights" and as you can the see, the card was super fast and easy--still beautiful! They used Soft Sky for the card base, Chocolate Chip for the Scallop Circle piece and a smaller Very Vanilla Circle. The sentiment and smaller design element were stamped in Chocolate Chip and the larger design element was stamped in River Rock. A special thanks to Beckie Kareck and the other demos with her for the great card! The other make and take was provided by Archiver's and it was a fantastic little card. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the freebies!
Saving the best news of the day for last...
We had our Becky Higgins Sketches class tonight and we were so bummed that Becky couldn't be here. However, we knew she was where she needed to be--with her daughter. We got our free copies of The Best of Becky Higgins' Sketches and let me tell you--it is a fantastic book! A highlight for me was that I won a door prize--and not a bummer prize like the one I got last night--long and funny story, you'll have to hear it in person :-) Anyway, I won a copy of Becky's Family History Scrapbooking and I nearly peed my pants!! Can you imagine if Becky would have drawn my name? I would have cried if she would have been the one to hand me that book! Yes, I know--I need to remind myself every now and then that Becky Higgins is just a person like t rest of us and simmer down.Well, in the spirit of celebrating Becky's sketches and publications let's discuss our next giveaway this weekend.
My Creative Companion is a great book with hundreds of Becky's sketches. It is the first BH publication I ever purchased and it can be yours. Just leave a comment telling us which scrapbooking/stamping publication is your favorite! Comments must be in by 3:00 pm tomorrow because we'll be posting more blog candy tomorrow afternoon! By the way, I'm happy to "meet" some of you bloggers out there who aren't in my stamp club! Welcome and thanks for looking and commenting!
